For those that have forgot how to enjoy food
A five step guide;
   For this exercise we are using strawberry but ANY food can be used.

  1. Take one bite of a strawberry and then close your eyes. Do not begin chewing yet.
  2. Try not to pay attention to the ideas running through your mind, just focus on the strawberry. Notice anything that comes to mind about taste, texture, temperature and sensation going on in your mouth.
  3. Begin chewing now. Chew slowly, just noticing what it feels like. Is there a aroma? It's normal that your mind will want to wander off. If you notice you're paying more attention to your thinking than to the chewing, just let go of the thought for the moment and come back to the chewing. Notice each sensation, sweet, tart, cold,  use your tongue and feel the texture against the roof of your mouth.
  4. In these moments you may find yourself wanting to swallow the strawberry. See if you can stay present and notice the subtle transition from chewing to swallowing. As you prepare to swallow the strawberry, try to follow it moving toward the back of your tongue and into your throat. Swallow the Strawberry, following it until you can no longer feel any sensation of the food remaining.
  5. Take a deep breath and exhale."

You are now ready to move on to your next bite! Slow down and enjoy!

Making Sushi at home is fun and economical as well. It is a more casual way of eating sushi. The shape and appearance, or presentation of the sushi itself is of no matter, but care should be taken to obtain the best ingredients and to perfectly cook the sushi rice. Nothing is more important than the ingredients, since little or no modifications are made to them. It would be good practice to get to know your ingredients for sushi, and try to use the best ones available. After getting used to making sushi rice, you should be able to make good tasting hand rolls, and then move on to the other styles. It's very easy, so don't hesitate.
